Dear Reader,
I know you've probably heard a lot of constant news about making money on eBay, and I just want to help you get started in a basic and easy to understand way.
First of all, do not spend any money. Don't spend money on any products that you are thinking will:
1) Help you start making money today
2) Any products that you think will "sell themselves"
When first starting your eBay career, you need to learn the basics on YOUR OWN. It may seem a little bit brutal, but I can assure that the graveyard is filled with people who just rushed into the business and had no idea what they were doing. To counter this, we need to not spend ANY money in the beginning and just get our feet wet with the entire business model.
There are a lot of free guides on eBay, so you don't have to spend money on an eBay guide that promises "you'll know how to make money on eBay in 30 minutes!"
Those are simply false.
While they may have some great "secrets," you're better off using your common sense and getting started at a much slower pace. Remember, slow and steady wins the race!So what are a few things you need to know about eBay before you can start "cashing in?"
Here are a few getting started tips that I've compiled that I think will be of great help to you
1) Nothing sells itself. You HAVE to sell everything you ever put online. Nothing is great enough to sell itself.
2) There are probably people selling things that you are thinking of selling, so you're going to have to deal with competition. Are you prepared to have a "sweeter deal" than the rest?
3) You're going to have to control your expenses. Having a great product is one side of the puzzle. The other side is getting your product for a lower cost than you are going to sell it for. Inexpensive products that you can sell for a decent amount equals money in your pocket.
The best situation that you can find yourself in with eBay is to have a place where you can buy things for wholesale costs, and then sell them online for a large markup. That's ultimately the point that you want to reach. However, some wholesalers require a minimum order amount and that could really eat into your initial investment.
I don't think you should spend more than a few hundred dollars on your first eBay inventory. This ensures that you won't be out of the money too much if things don't play out the right way.
So the steps on making money with eBay should go something like this:
1) Make an eBay account
2) Find what you want to sell
3) Hopefully get it for a cheap amount so you can make a profit off of it
4) Put an auction up
5) Ship the item to your buyer
There is no magic involved, no secrets, just practice and hard work.
Thanks for reading, and I was just hoping that this could help you a little bit since there's so much bad information out there!
Have fun learning how to make money on eBay, cause if you can't have fun doing that, then you should find something else to do!
Take care!
